WASHINGTON — Following several decades of clerical abuse, public heresy, priestly apostasy, collapsed trust, sexual scandal, doctrinal confusion, and homilies suggesting the Resurrection may have been more of a community experience, U.S. bishops announced this week that seminaries may need to screen candidates for the priesthood more carefully.
